We have had a bee-autiful month with our đ.
So much we are all continuing to learn about these amazing creatures.
We went to visit the bees one morning and discovered many ants crawling over the hive. Luckily we have a resident echidna who seems to know when sheâs needed, the next day we spotted her nearby.
Along with some âant proofingâ adaptions to the hive that are on their way in the post, I hope we will be able to reduce the đ visits.
Apparently ants don't like cinnamon so when this rain ceases I will try putting cinnamon near and on legs of hive to see if that helps
also.
The next worry will be the wasps but hopefully by the time they are out, the hive will be strong enough to withstand!
I havenât managed to capture a decent picture yet but the bees have been frequenting their neighbouring Maqui berry plant plot.
Now for some warmer weather and fruiting time will commence đ
